Mohawk logoSMALLPeople have been photographing the beauty of the Mohawk Trail as long as there have been cameras.

To help celebrate the Trail’s 100th Anniversary as the nation’s first scenic highway, base camp photo is reviving the tradition of a juried exhibition of photographs taken along the Mohawk Trail. The first of these was held back in 1953! It’s an exciting way to be part of the celebration, show off your skills as a photographer and help document the history of the trail for future generations.

The photos can be taken anywhere along the side of the road to highlight the natural beauty and great views, and must have been taken in 2013-14. The subject matter within the photograph is open – you may include people, signs, close ups, landscapes, portraits but the photos MUST have been taken along the side of the road of the Mohawk Trail!

The entries will be judged and the top winners will be exhibited at base camp photo’s gallery in Greenfield as well as being highlighted on the Mohawk Trail website and the websites of several business associations who represent the regions along the Trail:

Remember: We are looking for images that highlight how diverse, interesting, beautiful and exceptional The Mohawk Trail is! Photographs may have post production but not be overly Photoshopped. The trail runs through towns and natural areas – we want both!  Color and Black&White and treatments in between are accepted.
